About the London section...
The MZ Riders club has been in existence since the late 1970s, and there’s been a London section from the very beginning. Originally meeting in Westminster, the section has roamed all over… eventually ending up in the East.
The section spent much of the 90s and 00s meeting at the Travellers Friend in Woodford Green…
…but times are hard for motorcycling in London. ULEZ - parking charges in boroughs like Hackney - and a whole lot of cameras to enforce things makes motorcycling less fun. Although it’s still a great way to get around the city.
And the London section area is huge, with members in Slough in the west, and into Essex and Southend in the east, making finding a regular meeting venue something of a challenge. As such we don’t have regular meetings, but this site is an attempt to fix that.
The club magazine is bi-monthly, which doesn’t lend itself to quick ad-hoc events - nor does it provide an easy way to let members know an event isn’t running, or that the date needed to be changed…
So - keep an eye on the section calendar - and let me know if you’ve got an event that needs adding (my contact details are in the club magazine)
